My name is Kate, and I am a 20-year-old international student in my second year at the University of Westminster. I study Digital Media and Production, but when I first started, I had my mind set on journalism. Thanks to the help of the University experience, I had the opportunity to discover in depth the characteristics of other pathways, and being able to consider other possibilities, now I am glad i did.
Where I’m from:
I was born and raised in Italy. I come from a small suburb called Sesto San Giovanni, which is outside of Milan. It is a small city where everyone knows everyone; most of the people there saw me grow up, and we are like a big family. I really loved living there, and it was hard for me to move to London, but I think I really needed to change and experience life somewhere else.
Why production:
My decision to pursue the production pathway wasn’t really planned; it has been a year since I made this decision. Production is considered a creative pathway, which is why I chose it. After University, I would love to see myself working in the movie industry as a producer. I love cinema and being able to work in the industry would be a dream for me.
Creative soul:
The reason why I chose a creative pathway is also because throughout my life, I had always had the need to create. I did that in many different ways. I started with dance, and I have been doing it for most of my life, around ten or eleven years, and it has been one of my main sources of creativity. Then I started art school. I love to draw and make sculptures as well. And I think that doing production and contributing to the creation process of somenthing just makes sense to me.
