Hello, I’m Anirudh Jain and I’m a 2nd year Digital Media and Communications student at the University of Westminster. I think I’m the youngest in the course because I’m still 18 (tbf my birthday is in December so unlucky ig). I’m from India, grew up a year in Fontainebleau, France and 4 years in London. Now I’m back in London for uni. Some would say that studying abroad is ‘hard’ or ‘it takes some time to get used to’, but for me… it’s been pretty chill.
About Me
I would describe myself as an introvert on most occasions. When I’m with friends or people who I’m familiar with, I become an extrovert. I guess that just means I’m an ambivert but ehh slightly more on the introverted side. It feels like everything surrounds social media these days. The reason why I took this course was because I love writing. Just writing about anything (yapping ig). I want to go into journalism, specifically sports journalism. What’s better than yapping as a journalist? I have always envisioned myself to be the type of guy to write something as it rains outside, sipping my coffee. I like that type of vibe. If I could airdrop my dog (coco) to here in London, I would.

My Interests
FOOTBALL
Hm, where do I start. I love football, and by love I mean that football is my life. My mood changes quite literally based on my team’s performance. As a Chelsea fan, my mood changes every week I suppose 🥀. When I was living in London as a kid, I even got scouted by Chelsea… but then that same year I returned back to India. Not only watching football, but playing it too has given me immense joy over the years. Being part of my school’s football team, winning national trophies, competing with people from all over India was truly something I will forever cherish.

MUSIC:
I love music. By that I don’t just mean a mere 50k minutes on Spotify, I mean over 150k. I’m pretty sure that was how many minutes I listened to music last year, Insane. It feels like every 6 months, my music taste shifts. I used to listen to rock, 90’s music, but now it’s just been pop and indie/alternative/indie rock for the past… god knows how long. Favourite artists right now? Probably Gracie Abrams, Del Water Gap, Bleachers, Radiohead, The Backseat Lovers. Although if we go back the years, I would have included The Smiths, The Strokes, Current Joys, Pink Floyd, RHCP.
TV/SHOWS/MOVIES
I love Anime. My favourites are: Bleach, One piece (yes, I’m caught up), JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures, Wistoria, Black Clover. It’s something that has taught me a lot in life, and I have no regrets for the amount of hours I’ve delved into anime. Other than Anime, one of my favourite shows of all time is Daredevil. I love Marvel, albeit recently the quality of the shows have dropped. Thankfully they’re cutting down on the tv shows, but I’ll never forgive them for cancelling Daredevil with its final season next year. Breaking Bad would be a casual tv show to name but yeah, it was good what can I say.

Gaming
I had to buy a PS5 for university, just to be able to play games properly instead of on my Mac. Can’t wait for GTA 6 to drop. I love FIFA, well now it’s EAFC but it’s forever FIFA. Ultimate Team was the one mode I used to play for hours each day when I could. Peak times. Fortnite also, along with the most random Steam games I play with my friends for fun.
End
I mean, that’s about it. I can’t wait to continue this journey as a 2nd year student in Digital Media and Communications, and pursue my dream of being a sports journalist. That’s all about me, hope you enjoyed a bit of yap!
